Andy agreed, but only if he could come up with some acts of his own. The rest is TV history!

You'd think the producers of Fridays would have wanted to keep Andy Kaufman off of the show after the insanity his first appearance created, but in a guaranteed move to help boost the failing shows ratings, they once again asked Kaufman to come back and host. He took them up on their offer, but only if he could write some extensive material for the show. With their hands tied, the producers said yes.
The performance he delivered is what many Kaufmanites consider his finest hour. Andy hosted the entire show as a born again Christian, complete with gospel sing along's, moral posturing and the introduction of his Christian fiancée! In the realm of conceptual comedy, it doesn’t get any better or more original than this.

to make sure that Lovelace doesn't live to claim her rightful spot as leader of
